Description

We meet the travelers in our agency (via Camillo Cavour 21r) at 1: 45 Then the guide will take you in a slow stroll till the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous museums in the world. During this stroll, we will guide you to admire the Palazzo Medici, the Baptistery, the Duomo-Cathedral and Piazza della Signoria. You will also enjoy the sight of Palazzo Vecchio, a remarkable example of civil architecture. Here you will discover an open air museum with various masterpieces including the copy of Michelangelo's David, right in front of Palazzo Vecchio.

Then we will pass through the wings of the Uffizi Gallery to enter the museum. There, your knowledgeable guide will explain the works of the greatest artists from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.  You will learn about the secrets of the artists’ craft, techniques and tools. Looking at the most famous artworks of the period, you will be able to understand why Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance. After the guided tour you will have some free time to wonder around on your own and to have lunch (not included).

The second part of the tour, that starts at 16:00 in our agency too, features the Accademia Gallery. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Michelangelo’s art, including his most famous work, the statue of David.  You will learn why the David is the most recognizable symbol of Florence and what it represented in its time. The tour ends in the Accademia Gallery; yet, you will have the opportunity to spend additional time exploring the gallery on your own.
