Cinque Terre Trekking
Cinque Terre Trekking
Only available during summer season from april 1st- october 31st
Cinque Terre National Park is part of the Unesco World Heritage sites and has environmental and cultural features that make it unique. Many cliffs overhang the sea that hosts bays and small beaches; thousands of kilometres of dry stone walls enclose the terraces where vineyards are cultivated. There are also rural buildings, medieval quarters, sanctuaries, and panoramic trails that lead to views of the sea and slopes. We will walk along part of the Sentiero Azzurro (blue path) which is one of the most popular pedestrian routes because it is not a very difficult path to travel and it hosts beautiful views no matter the time of year. The route itself dates back to medieval times and for centuries it was the only road for the inhabitants of the coast. From Sentiero Azzurro there are dozens of mule tracks that follow the crest of the hill and trace a tight network of routes crossing small populated areas. During the tour, we will visit the village of Manarola, a bright and colourful scene of vineyards, olive trees, and salt-like painted houses that seem to rise from the cliffs of the narrow harbour. After that we will see Corniglia which is situated on an impressively high cliff; it is the only Cinque Terre village that can barely be reached by sea. The next stop will be Vernazza, a medieval village with mysterious alleys that enclose colourful pink, red, and yellow houses. It is included in the list of the 100 most beautiful villages in Italy. The town boasts a long maritime tradition made by sailors and warlords. At the end, we will stop in Monterosso, know as “the pearl of Cinque Terre.” It is an ancient fishing village that will catch your attention with its beautiful beaches and rich vegetation on the rocks. Here you will have free time to swim in the sea or stroll throughout the lovely village. The final village, Riomaggiore dates back to the 13th century and is famous for wine.
